Robert Eugene Brumback, age 67, of Lamar, passed away Friday afternoon, December 2, 2016, surrounded by loved ones at his home.

Robert was born July 20, 1949, in Exeter, California the son of Henry and Alice (Dalton) Brumback and spent his childhood in Farmersville, California.  A true adventurer, Robert had called many places home and was always eager to accept the challenge of expanded horizons.  He had a passion for custom Harley-Davidson bikes and they would always be his favorite mode of travel.  Living in Georgia filled him with a lasting southern pride, fostered his interest in Civil War and American history, and made him a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan.   His natural musical talent led him to serve on the executive board of Georgia Song Writers Association for several years.  While living in Oklahoma, he captured the essence of true cowboys through his work as a rodeo photographer and matched their grit by becoming a bronc rider.  An avid outdoorsman, Robert loved hunting in the Rockies in Colorado and was drawn to the ocean and deep sea fishing.

While living in California, Nevada, Georgia, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Arkansas, Robert worked in construction, contracting to build or finish projects, with a specialty in drywall.  He retired to Mindenmines in 2008 and moved to Lamar in 2016 to be near family.

Survivors include a son Eric Newsom (fiancé, Beth), Marysville, California; two daughters, Tina (Michael) Dowdy, Lamar and Barbara Brumback, Atlanta, Georgia; five sisters, Anne Cunningham, Mindenmines, Jody Lee, state of California, Edith Nunn, Mindenmines, Linda (Paul) Martinez, Visallia, California, and Cindy (James) Goodman, West Plains, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Brandi Lynn (Bobby Joe), Mercedes Lynne, Michaela Cheyenne, Miranda Renaee, Morgan Grace, Jessica Marie, and Timothy Robert; a great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Grace; many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
