Robert
“Bob” Lee Ainsworth, age 90, died May 25, 2012 at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Bob
was born February 12, 1922 in Lexington, Missouri to Harry and Edna (Starkebaum)
Ainsworth. Bob was raised and confirmed
in the Salem United Church of Christ in Higginsville,
Missouri. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War
II. Bob retired as a truck driver from Wilson Foods, Inc. in Oklahoma City July
1986. He was a pilot, sky diver and
enjoyed fishing. His greatest joy was
all of his girls and son-in-law.
Bob’s
family was most important to him. He
enjoyed taking his girls on the truck with him, going down in mines rock
hunting, gathering mistletoe, fishing or just out together. He especially enjoyed his time with his
granddaughters. His latest joy was his
great granddaughter and her entertaining him.
He
enjoyed life to the fullest.
He
is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lois; two daughters, Ritha and her husband
Wayne Tubbs of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and LN1 (Ret) Lori Long of Midwest City,
Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Pfc Karlyn Bishop of Ft. Riley, Kansas and
Annastassia Long of Midwest City, Oklahoma; a great-granddaughter, Kamrie
Leanne Bishop of Fort Riley, Kansas; one
sister Louise Salyer; and one brother Tom Ainsworth; and one brother-in-law
Harold Salyer, all of Higginsville, Missouri; and one sister-in-law Marilyn
Ainsworth of Carthage, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended
family.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Jim Ainsworth and
two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Ainsworth and Dorothy Salyer.
He
will be greatly missed by family and all who knew him.
A
memorial service will be 1:00 pm Saturday June 23, 2012 at Daniel Funeral Home
with Military Honors conducted on the front lawn following the service.
