Betty Lee Boles Bright Thiebaud, age 95, of Lamar, passed away June 18, 2010 at Barton County Memorial Hospital.

 

Betty was born May 17, 1915 at Milford, MO to Reed and Emma (Lee) Boles.  She was raised and lived most of her life in Barton County Missouri.  She graduated from Lamar High School in 1933.  She went on to attend Drury College in Springfield, MO graduating in 1937 and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.  Betty taught at Sheldon High School following her graduation.

 

Betty married Wayne H. Bright July 10, 1943 at Lamar, Missouri.  They farmed in the Kenoma area until his death on March 10, 1966.  Following his passing, Betty moved to Lamar and worked at the Lamar Trust Company.

 

Betty Married Harry (Jack) Thiebaud on February 8, 1969.  They resided on Jack’s farm west of Lamar until retiring to Lamar in 1980.  Jack passed away May 22, 2002.

 

Betty was active in the Wednesday Reading Club, Missouri P.E.O. Chapter EP, and Bridge Club.  She was a member of the Lamar Christian Church.  In later years, she and Jack attended the Lamar Apostolic Christian Church.

 

Betty enjoyed entertaining, reading, keeping up on current events and traveling with friends.  She enjoyed being around people and was a talented hostess with a gift for making people feel welcome.

 

She is survived by a step-daughter, Toni Thiebaud Cattelino and husband Ron of Lenexa, Kansas; two step-grandchildren, Jill Catttelino Kuehl and husband Jeff, of Louisville, Kentucky and Rachel Cattelino, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and a step-great-granddaughter Sydney Kuehl of Louisville, Kentucky.

 

The family wishes to express special thanks to the caregivers who lovingly assisted Betty in her later years.

 

Graveside Service for Betty will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Lake Cemetery.

 

Donations are suggested to Lake Cemetery or the donor’s choice.

Betty was a dear PEO sister. She was a gracious hostess in years past and much
fun. We have missed her at our meetings these last few years.

I meet Betty through my mom Janie who took care of her on the weekends. She was
a such a nice lady. We are very sorry for your loss.
