     Trula Faye “Billie” Dimond, age 85, of Lamar, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Barton County Memorial Hospital.

 

     Billie was born May 8, 1924, to August and Amelia Wendt at Herington, Kansas.  On March 29, 1946, at Girard, Kansas, she married R.W. “Docky” Dimond.  He preceded her in death June 19, 2009, after 63 years of marriage.  Billie leaves behind two sons and their wives, Jack & Kathleen Dimond and Jeff & Karen Dimond, all of Lamar; two daughters and their husbands, Jane & Bill McIntyre, Osage Beach, and Julie & John Zibert, Lamar; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Wendt of Herington, KS; two sisters, Eleamae Krauss, of Herington, KS, and Barbara Weatherman, of San Antonio, TX.

 

     Billie was a homemaker. She loved to fish, bowl and polka dance.  She was dedicated to her family and her many close friends.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

 

     Billie was preceded in death by her husband, “Docky” Dimond; her parents, three brothers, Hugo, Percy, and James Wendt; two sisters, Twila Vineyard, and Lila Mann.

 

     A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28th at Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Galen Friedrichs officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home.

 

     Memorial contributions are suggested to Barton County Senior Center in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

Just saying her name makes me smile. I loved her sense of humor and laugh.
Watching her look over the top of her glasses to give "The
Look"...priceless.!! I know there are pretenders out there trying to
replicate her potato salad...nobody will ever make it exactly the same. Over
the years, I've eaten my weight, several times, in Billie's Potato Salad. Just

Whenever I think of your mother, I think of
her baked beans in her beanpot. They were the best I have ever had. Also all of
the after the dance breakfasts your mother would fix. I have a lot of good
memories of her and your father. The best polka dancers ever.

Jack, Kathleen, and the rest of your family: I was so sorry to hear of the
passing of Billie. I just read it today in my DEMOCRAT that had been laying
