No matter who it was, John treated everyone the same, based on integrity.
He certainly was a friend and public servant to all. I am happy to say that I knew him.
Please accept my personal condolences on your loss.

What a shock when I read Eloise's e-mail. My first thought was "I need to go tell mother" but was reminded each time that she is no longer with us and then I finally realized "she knows" and I'm sure has already reunited with him in heaven. Our prayers are with you both as it has come as such a shock. I know he was much younger than mother and had lots of years ahead of him to continue with his wonderful live but I'm sure you find comfort in knowing he is in a "better place."
All our prayers and love

We were so sorry to hear of John's sudden passing. He worked for Barton County installing their culverts for almost 1-1/2 years and got to know him well. He was shocked when I called him from work at NRMC and told him of his sudden passing. He was a tireless worker for the community and
will be greatly missed. Our sincere sympathy to you, Marilyn, and all the family
in your great loss.

Dear Eloise, Marilyn, & Family, I was so sorry to read of John's passing. I have many fond memories of times spent at the Stockdale home while in high school with Eloise. I remember the morning several of us girls had spent the night with Eloise & slept outside if I recall correctly. What a shock to wake up early in the morning to John singing as he went about his chores! Many more fond memories of how kind, thoughful and loving the entire family is. I know John will be missed more than words can say and pray that God will uphold all of you as only He can during the trying days ahead! Love in Christ, Betty

John Stockdale was one of the faces that welcomed me to Barton County in 1983. He always had a smile and handshake for those he met. A void has been created . . .
