Susan Lynn Carpenter’s earthly journey ended Friday, December 4, 2015 at Truman Healthcare Center in Lamar, Missouri.

Susan was born January 3, 1954 in Lamar to James and Bonnie (Parker) Carpenter and grew up in Golden City, Missouri.  After graduating from Golden City High School in 1971, she completed Beauty School in 1973.  As a cosmetologist, Susan owned and operated The Golden Boutique Salon for more than 40 years, retiring in 2013 due to ill health.

Susan and her companion of 28 years, David Kleeman, made their home in Lamar.  In addition to being a friend and confidant to her many clients, she was a devoted grandmother, sister and daughter.  In her spare time, Susan enjoyed collecting snowmen, painting ceramics, quilting, and any activity that involved her grandkids.

Survivors include her companion, David, of the home; her mother, Bonnie Carpenter, Golden City; step-children, Stacey (Brad) Wright, Fort Scott, Kansas and Donnie (Lena) Kleeman, Sheldon, Missouri; a sister, Cynthia (Tony) Peterson, Golden City; two nephews, Christopher and Nathan Peterson.  Susan adored her six grandchildren, Chelsey Teed (Tyler), Carl Junction, Missouri, Caleb (Caddy) Lovan, Springfield, Missouri, Blake Lovan, Lamar, Ella, Emma, and Adilynn Kleeman, Sheldon; and her two great-grandchildren, Jaylin Lovan and Noah Barnes.  She was looking forward to the birth of another great-grandson in March 2016.  Susan was preceded in death by her father, James Carpenter and a great-grandson, Kaison Barnes.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 7th at Daniel Funeral Home.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8th at Dudenville Cemetery south of Golden City.
