    Delva Susan Hensley, age 82, of Lamar, Missouri passed away at her home, Tuesday, September 16, 2014.

   Delva was born November 25, 1931 at Idalia, Colorado to Charles Raymond Saar and Ethel Luella (Kilgore) Saar.  She attended Missouri Valley School in Mildred, Colorado.  On January 1, 1948, in Yuma County, Colorado she married James Earl “John” Hensley and they farmed in Colorado before moving to Missouri in 1958 to farm and raise their family. She was a woman of great faith and attended Full Gospel Tabernacle in Lamar.  Delva was a homemaker and loved to make quilts.

   Survivors include a son, Roger (Vicki) Hensley, Nevada, Missouri; four daughters, Linda (Roy) Owen, Susan Cheshire, Karen (Jerry) Taffner, and Pam (Jesse) Medlin all of Lamar; six grandsons, Jeremy Hensley, Brennon Cheshire, Nathaniel  Cheshire, Benjamin Cheshire, Shane Medlin, and Shawn Medlin; eight granddaughters, Diana Cooper, Dana Schanot, Amy Shaw, Becky Baldwin, Kristi Hensley, Cami Colaw, Angie Schlichting, and Lori Roskamp; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hensley September 1, 2007; an infant daughter, Donna Jean Hensley in 1953; two sisters, Jean Elliott and Dorothy Marie Saar; and one great-great-grandson, Stetson Winters.

   Funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, September 19, 2014 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sheldon Cemetery, Sheldon, Missouri.

   The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Daniel Funeral Home.
