Frank H. Koehn, age 77, of Lamar, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at Barton County Memorial Hospital.

Frank was born March 16, 1937 in Montezuma, Kansas, one of the six children of Pete and Hannah (Schmidt) Koehn.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Chester and Vernon Koehn.

On June 12, 1959, at El Dorado, Kansas, Frank married the love of his life, Jeannie (Schmidt) Koehn, and they have lived in Lamar since 1965.  Frank was an over-the-road trucker for 37 years, driving for several trucking companies as well as owning and operating Frank Koehn Transport.  His positive attitude and indomitable spirit gave him the courage to face any challenge, including failing health.  His faith, family, and the fellowship of many good friends encouraged him through a liver transplant in 1996 and, later, a heart valve replacement and pacemaker.  He was an active member of Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church and Lamar Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 55 years, Jeannie, of the home; three sons, Rick (Debra) Koehn, Joplin, Mike (Kathy) Koehn, Lamar, and Nicholas (Ericka) Jimenez, Joplin; a daughter, Victoria Jimenez, Lamar; two brothers, Lewie (Arletta) Koehn, Moundridge, Kansas and Ardell (Arlene) Koehn, Burton, Kansas; a sister, Marlene (Ben) Decker, Walker, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Marcella Koehn, Burns, Kansas; Aunt Sheryl Lee, Lamar; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Gilbert) Sheriff and Trey Blackmon of Lamar, and Krista Rene Koehn of Joplin; three great-grandchildren, Aliciah & Catalina Sheriff, Lamar, and Maxwell Jimenez, Joplin; and a large extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Barton County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
