While at home on Friday, February 7, 2014, Benjamin Morgan Fitchpatrick passed through the gates of Heaven to meet his Lord and Savior.  Ben was born on January 17, 1940 to Earl Morgan and Lenna Helen (Quade) Fitchpatrick.  He was one of eight children raised on the Fitchpatrick farm where they milked cows and raised geese and chickens.  After graduating from Golden City High School Ben drove a truck for 41 years and has driven in every state in the United States except for Alaska, Hawaii and Maine.  He received an award from the State of Missouri for driving 4.5 million miles without a chargeable accident.

He met the love of his life Lois Elene Berryhill and they were married on September 26, 1969.  Living on a farm in rural Jasper the couple raised two children Jeff Morgan and Kelly Ann. Family was always number one in Ben’s heart and he hated the time that he spent away from them. The family has been members of the First Baptist Church of Jasper for many years.  Through the trying times in his life he used Philippians 4:13 to give him encouragement. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Waiting to greet him in Heaven are his parents, Earl and Lenna Fitchpatrick; two sisters, Eva Louise Cavener and her husband Dale, Harriett Jewel Robertson and brother-in-laws Leon Rector, Bill Ferrell and Clarence Whitehead.  He leaves behind his wife Lois “Elene” Fitchpatrick; one son Jeff Fitchpatrick; one daughter and son-in-law Geoff and Kelly Faubion; grandchildren Morgan & Shayla Faubion and Brett Faubion,  two brothers; Carroll and Louella Fitchpatrick, Clifford and Nita Fitchpatrick; three sisters Thelma Shaffer, Wanda Marie Rector, and Delores Whitehead.  Surviving extended family including Mel Robertson, Loyal and Velma Berryhill, Walter and Ann Powell, Carl and Debbie Berryhill, many nieces and nephews as well as amazing friends and neighbors.

“Don’t worry about me I’m Pretty and Good.”

Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Jasper First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 pm Monday at Jasper First Baptist Church.

Contributions are suggested to Jasper FFA or Jasper First Baptist Church in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

He's reached the end of his journey, we've still got a ways to go! Keeping you all in our prayers!

Words cannot describe the pain of your loss. Ben was such a big part of the community and will be remembered in so many hearts. Ben and Elene made such a big impact on my family's lives and will never be forgotten. All the Awana bus rides, sleep overs, letting us help feed the animals, bringing me dinner at the gas station, basketball games, FFA things, and so muh more! It will take a while to recooperate from this but you have several friends and family to lean on and help you through. We love you all and are praying for you guys!

I am very sorry to hear about Ben. He was a wonderful inspiration. I never saw Ben that he wasn't smiling or picking on someone. Ben never let life get him down. What a wonderful memory to leave behind. God bless and comfort you all.

I love you all and I know the times ahead will be tough. There is nothing anyone can say that will make the pain go away. You have to live through it, but you will grow stronger for it. God doesn't put you through these things without reason. He knows you guys are strong enough for this at this time in your lives. He will carry you through the sand. Ben was a very special man who touched many people's hearts and has been a big part of their lives. Just like all of you. I consider all of you family since you have been there for Karria and I through so much. I just wish I could be there for you somehow. Just know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers (from way over here) and that I hope to see you all when I get back. Love you guys and miss you! Stay strong. Here is a song that I think is really beautiful and might help.....To where you are ~ Josh Groban.
