Lloyd Dennis Wilhoit, age 55, formerly of Lamar, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at North Village Park Nursing Home in Moberly, Missouri.

Dennis was born July 12, 1957 at Clinton, Missouri, one of the two sons of Lloyd E. and Christine (Struke) Wilhoit.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Thomas Wilhoit.

Dennis acquired his great work ethic growing up on the family farm near Montevallo, Missouri.  He was confirmed in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nevada.  After graduating from El Dorado High School in 1976, he continued to work on the farm and later was employed by the Sheltered Workshops in Nevada and Lamar.  Dennis was neat and meticulous in every aspect of his life and worked hard to accomplish any challenge before him.  He enjoyed fishing, country music, and watching cartoons.  His generous nature was evident to all who knew him,  and his special niece, Shadell, was often showered with his favorite gift of stuffed animals.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Stacy Wilhoit Norman and a niece, Shadell Wilhoit, both of El Dorado Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 7th, at Daniel Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Nevada, Missouri.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nevada.

Sorry for your loss. Dennis was always nice to me when we were kids. I remember our families getting together for 4th of July when I was little. Fond memories!
