     Reba Mae McCollough, age 80, of Lamar passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin following a heart attack.

     Reba was born January 10, 1932 at the family farm home in Barton County to D.W. and Bessie (Collins) Sheat.  After graduating from Lamar High School in 1950, she worked for Frank Horton Engineering for several years. On October 22, 1955, at Bethany Baptist Church, Reba married Marvin E. McCollough and they made their home and raised their three sons in Lamar.  She attended Grace Place Baptist Church.  Reba was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family.  She was a talented artist who collected angels and was an avid flower gardener.  Many will remember Reba as “the strawberry lady” tending acres of  berries in the McCollough u-pick field.

     Reba was preceded in death by her parents, D.W. and Bessie Sheat; her mother-in-law, Alma McCollough; two grandsons, Jeffrey and Gregory McCollouch; and a great-grandson, Evan Kirouac.

     Survivors include her husband of nearly 57 years, Marvin; three sons, Steve (Valerie) McCollough, Lamar, Brad (Melisa) McCollough, Cookeville, Tennessee, and Mike McCollough, Joplin; two brothers, George (Pat) Sheat and Dave (Joan) Sheat, all of Lamar; two sisters, Betty (Glen) Benedict, Nampa, Idaho, and Norma (Sam) Walker, Lamar: 13 grandchildren, Erin & Jason Kiouac, Abby & Curtis Prichard, Tyler Crouch, Erin Crouch, Cody & Megan McCollough, Kolby & Blake McCollough, Kayla McCollough, Blake Michael McCollough, and Alex McCollough; five great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

     Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28th at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Aunt Reba will be greatly missed. But is now in heaven with her Lord. Will be praying for God's comfort for the all her loved ones.
